BUS NETWORK STRUCTURE

A bus network is a network architecture in which a set of clients are connected via a shared communications line, called a bus.

Only one computer can send information at a time. When a computer transfers information, the information moves through the entire length of the cable. The destination computer retrieves the information from the cable.

Terminator: A terminator takes in the signals transmitted on a network cable . It is must  for each end of the cable to have a terminator. Terminators prevent signals from being bounced back along the cable and causing interference. The type of terminator required is dependent on the type of cable used on the network.

Setup: The setup of a bus network is quite  simple because each computer is connected to a continuous length of cable. As bus networks are usually used to connect  computers located in a small area and no central network connector is required, the length of cable needed to set up a bus network is often short.

 Expansion:-

expansion of an existing bus network can create difficulties .when adding a computer to a bus network, the cable must be broken to extend the cable and attach the computer .the others computer. the other computer on the network cannot transfer information while the cable is broken.


Troubleshooting:-

if a computer is not functioning property and is disrupting transfer of the information, the entire network will get affected.
